Creating a good password question

When you set up your CopyCat account, you need to think of a secret question and answer to which only you know the answer. If you ever forget your password, you’ll have to provide your secret answer in order to reset your password.

To protect your CopyCat information, it’s important to pick a secret question that is hard for other people to guess.

To create a good secret question, make sure you do the following:

• Choose a question and answer that is easy for you to remember.
• Choose a question to which only you know the answer, and which would be hard to guess or research.
• Choose a question that is unique and specific.
• Choose an answer that stays the same over time.

Here are some sample questions:

• In what city did your parents meet?
• What was the color, make, model, and year of your first car? Write your answer in the same order, without commas: “White Ford Mustang 1996.”
• Who is the first person to give you an autograph (first and last name)?
• Who was your childhood best friend (first and last name)?

If you use the question ideas above, be sure to customize your answer to make it unique.
Also, since both the question and answer are case-sensitive, be sure to remember exactly how you typed them (you’ll need to type them the same way each time you need to enter them).

Finally, remember to protect your secret question as you would any password by not telling it to anyone, not writing it down, and periodically changing your question and answer.
